Great River Shootout Series was in the house this night and what great weather for a race day! As we continue into the season, the battles continue to heat up! This small series has been a lot of fun and many riders are following the series with the tracks it includes and they like to mix it up here and there.

As the Schoolboy class takes off the line, Grant Robinson (426) takes the lead with Brody Brewer (586) in second right on him, and Landon Brandt (614) in third hanging right with them. Out back behind these guys Lucas Wood (27) and Dane Miller (152) are having a battle of their own as Miller tries to make his way around Wood. Wood and Miller go to finish their first lap and as they go over the finish line jump they go over right up next to each other. Pretty quick into the second lap Miller makes the pass on Wood to switch their places around. Once Miller makes the pass around Wood, he heads straight for Brandt. Pretty quickly Brandt and Miller start their battle, the two go up the dragons back next to each other, Brandt keeps ahead and as they go into that next corner, Miller is right on Brandt’s back tire. Shortly into the next lap, Miller makes the pass to get ahead of Brandt while Wood finds his way right up behind Brandt. As Wood is hanging onto Brandt, the checkered flag was out and Brandt came across the finish line just inches ahead of Wood! Brandt finishing with a fourth and Wood with a fifth!

Garrett Ward (31) and Kyle White (19) put on quite the race in the 250 A class. As the guys took off the line Ward followed White closely. The two spend the entire winter race series having pretty close races but this time they got closer than ever. As the two were racing around the track, down to the last few laps, they go into the corner right after the front straight away, bump into each other, both staying up and White keeping the lead to win the 250 A race.

Later on these two race each other in the Open A class and between these two and Nick Wallace (23) things get interesting! Open A takes off the line and Wallace pulls the hole shot to take the lead as Ward gets right behind him in second with White in third! The race becomes instantly intense as they all three want to have that lead! White is pushing hard and just before the tower jump he washes the front end and slides out giving valuable seconds to the front runners.  Wallace is having none of the Ward's attempts to pass, he anticipates every move  manages to put 3-4 bikes on Ward every tim

e they hit the straight away in front of the starting line.  7 laps on a very "busy" track makes for some tired riders at the end of the battle but this night Nick Wallace prevailed for the win.  Ward second and White third as he gained on them but rain out of time to be able to throw a wheel in the mix.  This A class isn't the biggest in the world by any means but the racing those guys do is so competitive and they not only put on a great show, but they are all friends and race clean.  No stuffing or punting the other guy in these battles they are true racers and strong competitors.

It was an instant battle between Karson Connolly (14) and Kayden Moore (95) in the 65cc Open race. Connolly pulls the hole shot to take the lead while Moore was right up on his tail. The two went into the corner after the rollers, Connolly goes on the outside of the corner while Moore takes the inside to take the lead and put Connolly in second! Pretty quickly Connolly turns it around and takes the lead back from Moore! To make sure he stays in the lead he starts kicking things up a notch and puts a small gap on Moore. As the race continues the two start to run into lappers, once Moore is able to get around those lappers he starts to close that gap! He heads down the straight away goes into that corner and ends up falling over. Moore quickly gets back up, and goes to the checkered flag to finish in second as Connolly takes the win!
In the 125cc class, Grant Robinson (426) takes lead while Landon Brandt (614), Jake Hasten (14) and Brody Brewer (586) start an instant battle. Just into their second lap around Brewer gets around both Hasten and Brandt to take himself out of the battle while Cutter Riebe (322) brings himself into the battle with Hasten and Brandt. Hasten gets tired of following Brandt as he makes the pass around Brandt in the corner after the front straight away! With it being their last lap, there was no more time for making any more passes, Brewer finished in second, Hasten in third, Brandt in fourth, and Riebe in fifth!
Next Megacross is Saturday, June 8th so don’t miss it as we expect to see more battles like these and get some more inside sight from some of the racers with some interviews! Hope to see you all there!
