Warm temps have been hanging around the midwest the last few weeks and this Saturday night was no different.  As the riders meeting was called a few little darker then normal clouds showed and some called it a "sideways" rain but others well it was a sprinkle.  Never the less, moto is hardy and will push through weather conditions normally no matter what hits.  As it was the track was good but when the sun goes down it got slicker then normal as the added moisture to watering all day decided to "come up" so after dark the "shiny spots" were there to be avoided. Long time racer and Megacross rider stated "you had to go out and "fine" traction tonight!  He did that well winning all his classes. He is older now so he knows exactly how to find traction and can do that going fast.........We won't call him old, just experienced.  19 Kyle White, or is it 291, depends on the day. He did win all 4 classes entered this night had a youngin pushin him in 2 of those classes.  KW has come back to racing with some well earned stature.

Kamden Moore (95) takes the lead with Bryson Mejia (27) behind in second in the start of the 50cc 4-8 race. Moore was keeping the lead for the whole first lap around, but into that second lap, Moore fell and led Mejia to take the lead. With Mejia taking the lead, he had a pretty good gap on the rest of the class, it took Moore a minute to get back up and moving. By the time he got back up, he was down in sixth place. Corbin Moon (118) had come up to take second and planned on holding that spot for as long as he could. Moore was determined to get back up towards the front, he quickly started making passes and by the end of the third lap he was up to fourth place with Hugh Hirschman (818) ahead of him in third place. One lap was left of this race, Moore had to give it all he had if he wanted to get back up there. In that last lap Moore made the pass around Hirschman to take third and switch their positions around. Mejia came around to the finish line to get the checkered flag and win the race leaving no time for any more passes for Moore. Moon finished with a second and Moore took a third place finish!

As the Women’s Advanced took off the line to start their race, Rylee Woods (610), Abygail Buettner (515) and Sadie Quest (106) head down the front straight away in a close group together. As the girls finish their first lap around, Woods is in the lead, Quest in second and Buettner in third. As they race around for their second lap, Quest takes a fall and Buettner snatches that second place. Woods has a bit of a gap on Buettner as she stays in the lead for the next lap or so. Shortly into their fourth lap, Woods goes down so Buettner becomes the new leader! Woods doesn’t take much time to get back up and moving as she is now in second place. As long as Buettner stays up and moving she can take the win, only one lap left! They race around the track to finish their last lap, Buettner takes the finish line flag and pull the win while Woods comes around to finish with a second!

Austin Hanabarger (119)takes the lead with Zachery Johnson (7) right up on him in second in the 250 B class. Out Behind these two, Landon Lee (964) is hanging in third. As Johnson hangs on Hanabarger, they get to the “s” corners right before the finish line about to finish their third lap when Johnson goes down. Johnson loses that second place position as Lee comes in and takes second while he’s down. Hanabarger keeps his speed up and makes sure to stay in the lead, he gets to that checkered flag first to take the win! Johnson wasn’t able to get back up with them so Lee finishes with a second and Johnson takes a third! 

In the 14-24 race Cameron Linden (422) and Cody Erickson (83) battled it out as they raced around the track. Linden was in fifth place while Erickson was right on his tail in sixth. Erickson took every chance he could to try and make a pass but Linden was blocking him, making it even harder on Erickson to get around him. Linden was determined on staying in that fifth place spot and that’s just what he did. Linden finished with a fifth place while Erickson wasn’t able to finish the last lap around.

As the season progresses we plan to see more battles just like these so make sure to not miss the next Megacross on Saturday, June 22nd!
