As eventful as January's race was weather wasn't a factor at all in the February event.  Sunny and 40's makes it a great race day inside or out! Traxs Winter Series rnd3 was placed in the books with some exicting racing and some first time winners along with the ones that are breaking out this season.  As we get closer to spring so many of these riders are showing great improvement and we suspect this will show up at the outdoor races as well!  Spring is early this year, and the riders are getting a treat to have so many options to race and ride in these winter months, it's a rare time!  Kids always kick off the morning race day and Super mini didn't disappoint!

The Supermini class started out with Ethan Escatel (451) and Jax Ellul (66) going around the first corner next to each other fighting for the hole shot. Escatel was able to inch forward and take the lead with Ellul still staying right with him. As the two race around the track, Ellul is able to find spots where he can get his front tire right up next to Escatel’s back tire but just can’t get fully around him. Escatel makes sure to stay in the lead by putting some a tad bit of space between himself and Ellul when going down the straight away. As the race is about to come to an end, Ellul is back up on Escatel’s back tire. Checkered flag is out and Escatel pulls the win and Ellul takes second place!

Benjmain Bahnik (121) and Vince Binkowski (545) battle for first place in the 65 Sr race while in the back, Zachary Young (101), Joey Knott (52), and Bram Eagan (914) are running in a close pack. Within the first couple laps, Bahnik Starts putting distance on Binkowski while Justin Boyden (409) brings himself into the battle with the other three. By the fourth lap around, the back group start switching things around, in the back part of the track, as they go around the corner, Eagan gets tight up next to Knott and as they go over the tabletop he makes the pass! Shortly after, as they go over the big middle jump, Eagan makes another pass around Young and moves himself up to fifth. Shortly into the last lap, Boyden makes a pass on both Young and Knott to move himself up back behind Eagan in sixth. As Bahnik reaches the checkered flag to win, Binkowski comes in second, and the back pack completely flipped with Eagan finishing in fifth, Boyden in sixth, Knott in seventh, and Young in Eighth!

In the 50cc 4-8, Joseph Rodriguez (115)took off with the lead while Bryson Mejia (27) and Legend Duff (21) are racing closely in second and third. As the two are racing around, Duff is just about an inch or so away from Mejia’s back tire, Pretty soon the two are running into lappers which gives them even more of a challenge in their intense race. As the two are making their way around their last lap, the two go around the corner before the back tabletop right up next to each other, making it even more interesting! As Duff is trying to keep with Mejia, he hits a lappers back tire and falls over. By the time Duff can get moving again, he already dropped down quite a bit leaving Mejia to keep his second all the way to the checkered flag.

Before we finish up with the kids, one thing that was pretty cool to see was 14 Electric bikes lined up for the Electric class!

As the Womens Advanced class takes off the line, Jaiden Minnaert (35) takes the lead as Kyleigh Miller (165), Abygail Buettner (515), and Mallie Arnold (99) are in a group following behind. These girls are already making sure its an exciting race as they come over the big middle jump and they’ve mixed it all up. Just like that, Miller has taken the lead with Arnold hanging on her in second now, Minnaert dropped down to third and Buettner running in fourth now. Next lap around and Buettner makes a pass on Minneart to switch their places right around! On to about their fourth lap and Kasia Kosciarz (725) brings herself into the mix of the group and passes Minnaert going over the finish line jump to bring herself up to fourth place right after Buettner. Arnold is still chasing after Miller trying to take that lead away from her before time ran out. Miller and Arnold go over big middle jump, Arnold getting right on the inside of Miller to take the inside of that corner and push Miller out and take the lead! Last lap and Arnold is able to put distance on Miller while Kosciarz creeps up on Buettner and is only a couple inches behind her. Race comes to an end with Arnold with a win, Miller taking second, Buettner finishing in third, and Kosciarz in fourth! The girls made sure to put on an awesome race from beginning to end!

Andrew Peiffer (671) pulls the hole shot to take the lead in the 40+ B/C class but as he goes over that first hump, he goes down and loses the lead and drops down a bit. Tim Buettner (92) comes up as Peiffer is down and steals the lead as Steve Sikma (453) follows him around in second. By the time Peiffer got back up in moving he was already second to last, so he was going to have to really work to get back up to the top. It didn’t take long before he started making passes, in just the second lap, Peiffer had already gotten around John Machay (2222) and Dwayne Walters (38) and was now headed for Eric Miller (113). Right before going into the dragons back, Peiffer took his chance and made his way around Miller to bring himself up to fifth. After passing these guys he had his eye out for Miro Tuska (625) who was running in fourth and was hanging right on Jerry Kevek (615). The three were running close together making it real interesting. Peiffer was able to get tire to tire with Tuska but just could not seem to find his way around him. The three keep their closeness as they make their way around their last lap. Corner before dragons back, Peiffer tries to take inside of corner to make his last pass, he gets up next to him and almost has it but Tuska keeps his speed up through the corner and makes sure to stay ahead. Time is out, Buettner held the lead to finish with a win, Sikma in second, Kevek in third, Tuska in fourth, and Peiffer with a fifth!

Once again, the Open C class was split into 2 different races with the turnout for the class being too big for one race. In the Open C 2 race Troy Lawrence (287) takes off with the lead with Parker Miller (22/) hanging right with him. As these two have their battle, down a few places was Dylan McGarry (498), Gammon Williams (863) and Mason Hess (113) racing in a group.  It wasn’t till about the third lap till these guys started mixing things up, McGarry was still staying in front of both Williams and Hess till the corner after the big middle jump when he falls over and both Williams and Hess make their way around McGarry along with Nick Bellezen (724), moving McGarry down to seventh. As Lawrence and Miller are still hanging onto each other, they head into their fourth lap around and Miller decides he is done following, he makes the pass to take the lead! Lawrence doesn’t back off though, he stays right with Miller, hoping to take the lead back before they reach the checkered flag. The two race around the track to finish their race, Miller holds Lawrence off making sure he gets a win, leaving Lawrence with a second!
