First double header weekend for Fox Valley Off Road came with some great weather and some great ridership.
The 65 Beginner class kicked off Saturday morning with some great racing. As the group takes off the line, Tank Laws (28) pulls the hole shot to take the lead, Liam Damewood (441) comes out of the first corner in second, Easten Daniels (110) in third, and Easton Donnelly (169) in fourth. Pretty quickly into their first lap Laws is already making himself a bit of a gap on the rest of the class. As the come out of the woods and head back onto the track to start their second lap, Damewood is making himself a small gap on Daniels while Daniels has Donnelly right on his heels. Donnelly stays right with Daniels as they head back into the woods as we wait for them to come back out to the track. The two come out of the woods and onto the track to finish their second lap with Daniels still holding that third place position with Donnelly still staying right on him. As Laws pulls ahead from Damewood, Damewood is able to gain more distance on Daniels and Donnelly. As time goes by and the kids race around the course, Daniels is still keeping ahead, blocking Donnelly every chance he can as Donnelly keeps trying to cut inside as they make their way through the corners on the track. Checkered flag comes out and the intensity rises between Daniels and Donnelly as they got closer than ever to each other. They both come into the last corner before finish line jump and Daniels got him by just a hair!
Regan Doerr (336) takes the lead in the 122-Open class with Ayden White (88) right behind in second and Reece Doerr (363) in third right with them. After these three come around, Cameron Linden (422), Travis Ward (51), and Kade Heilman (447) come around in a group. With White being right on Doerr’s tail, White is trying to do everything he can to get around Doerr, on the track we watch White trying to take all the insides of the corners but Doerr is not letting up just yet. As they all head back up tunnel hill Ward was now in front of Linden. The guys head back down to the track for their second lap, White still hanging right on Doerr who’s still in the lead. At this point White keeps making his way right up next to him, bumping off each other fighting for that first place position! The two pull ahead from the rest of the class, leaving Reece Doerr and Ward to their own battle for that third place spot. White came down one of the hills in the lead with Regan Doerr no where to be found anymore but once he did come back out he was pretty far back. As long as White stays up he had the win for this one. Ward continued to hang onto Reece Doerr but it was about time for the checkered flag to come out. White took the win, Reece Doerr finished in second, and Ward in third!
Jaiden Minnaert (35) takes the lead with Ava Unold (92) following in second, Taylor Longstreth (405) in third, Alli Kocher (452) in fourth, Nicci Balzer (996) in fifth, and Amanda Taylor (451) in sixth as the Womens class takes off with their race. Before the first lap is even over, both Minnaert and Unold are mixing themselves up with the 60+ guys which will give the other ladies a little bit more of a challenge. Taylor is hanging right on Balzer’s tail, waiting for the right time to make that pass on her to bring herself up a spot. Balzer still staying in fifth while on the track in their second lap, the two are headed down the middle straight away, Taylor gets right up next to Balzer, the two go into the corner and Taylor makes the pass to switch their places around! While these two are switching things up, Longstreth made a pass around Unold to bring herself up to second and push Unold to third. When these girls finished their second lap around Unold was still hanging with Longstreth and Minnaert but as the third lap went by, it seemed like Minnaert and Longstreth took off from the rest of the class and were in their own race. As the last couple laps went by, Kocher was making her way closer and closer to Unold and by the last lap she was right on Unold’s tail. With the checkered flag coming out with Minnaert coming around to take the win and Longstreth right behind in second place, there was no more time for Kocher to try and make a pass. Unold took third with Kocher in fourth and Taylor in fifth!
The 65 Beginner kids put on another great race Sunday morning for the Hare Scramble. As the kids took off the line Easton Donnelly took off with the lead with Liam Damewood (144) coming around in second, and Tank Laws (128) right in third. Laws did not plan on hanging out in that third place position for long, about second lap in and he made his way around Damewood to bring himself up to second and was headed straight for Donnelly with only being three seconds behind him. Next time they come around, Laws is only just a second behind Donnelly making his way right up on Donnelly trying to find a way around him. Once they got about 12 minutes in Laws had taken the lead and pretty quickly put about eight seconds on Donnelly who was now hanging out in second. The two start to head into lappers, raising the intensity of the race between the two. Laws seemed like he was having an easier time getting around the lappers with having seven seconds ahead of Donnelly still. While these two are up front, we look back a little ways and see Jakob Sherwood (151)

hanging right behind Sophia Kavsky (121) for most of the race. As time went by Sherwood was inching his way up to Kavsky and hoping to get a pass in. Around twenty minutes in the two were on the back side of the track, Sherwood took outside of the corner while Kavsky went on the inside, the two went down the straight away side by side, into the next corner and Sherwood made the pass! Once Sherwood made his way around Kavsky he started putting some distance on Kavsky to make sure he locked his position in! Time was out and checkered flag was out, Laws came in for the win with Donnelly taking second place, and Damewood coming in third!
The AA guys take off the line to start their hour and 45 minute race, as the come down to rock creek for their first lap around, Garrett ward (31) is in the lead with Regan Doerr (36) in second, Ayden white (88) in third, and Jayson Crawford (80) in fourth. Shortly after they come back across the roadway Ward is still leading with White now in second and right on Ward’s tail while Crawford comes around in third now. Within a couple laps into the race, White takes the lead away from Ward, moving Ward into second and Crawford closing in on Ward. Crawford doesn’t stay behind Ward much longer, he makes the pass to switch their positions around. Once Crawford gets around Ward he heads straight for White who is still hanging in the lead. Doesn’t take long before Crawford closes that gap completely in on White and hangs right on him as the two race around the course. White was keeping Crawford behind him till about the eighth lap in when Crawford stole the lead! Once Crawford got in that lead he made sure to put some time on White. Time was up and Crawford comes out with a win while White takes the second place spot!
